extend the length of your dollar with clear packing box tape to about 5 feet and presto you can use the same dollar over and over just pull it back out and re-use it hehe, my buddy in highschool invented this solution and cleared out the high school vending machines hehehehe

the 2nd answer about the coin mech is correct if it's an older model, single price machine. If it's a newer electronic multiprice machine, you need to program it. Update the question or ask a new one with the make and model of the machine and I can help you.

I'm sorry...what? Smash the glass and take what you want. That'll make it darn cheap.

It depends on the coin mech that is installed in the machine. There are tons of different coin mechanisms that work differently but one of the most popular was Coinco which used a series of 5-6 switches. The switches are in the following denominations 5 cents, 10 cents, 20cents, 40 cents, 80 cents, $1.60. If you want the price of your pop to be 65 cents then you flip up the 5, 20 and 40 cent switches (5+20+40 = 65). For a 35 cent pop you flip the 5, 10 and 20 cent switches. Hope this helps
