How Does A Vending Machine Know If A Bill Is Counterfeit?

April 10th, 2009 Posted in Información General

Oftentimes, a store cashier may check if a bill is counterfeit by marking it with a special marker, putting it up against a light, and other sorts of methods.
However, if someone uses counterfeit bills in vending machines, how will the vending machine know, and what can IT do to notify the police? Or will counterfeit-users have free reign over the vending machines and freely cheat them out? And do they?

Actually, the vending machine is smarter than the store clerk because it uses a very sophisticated more pattern plate to compare the one on the tray with a perfect bill. If all the lines don’t line up, it rejects the bill… there are some other things it does to test the bill too, but I’m not going to tell you what they are.
Vending machines don’t call the police because there is no need. You obviously don’t realize just how sophisticated that bill validating system is.

Modern machines use laser technology to view the various marks and watermarks on bills. They are not a 100% yet but close. If a bill is suspect it is rejected even if it is actually real. That’s why worn bills often don’t make it.
