How Would You Network A Vending Machine In A Corporate Environment?

April 30th, 2009 Posted in Información General

I’ve got a client who’s trying to create a cashless vending machine for a corporate environment. Using the cell network is too expensive and wireless is unreliable. We’d prefer to hardwire into an existing network in order to send encrypted data over the internet (to verify credit cards). Any advice on how this could/should be done?

those are usually pretty automatic if the machine is capable of it. usually the building should have a router for security (i think risc-based is fine) and for the most security i’d block all ports in and out except the one(s) that the cashless machine uses, it should know it’s own servers it needs to connect to and stuff, if not, call the machine vendor
