		<description>quarters are slightly thicker although size is nearly the same. roughing the edges of older pennies prevents them from being recognized as a penny as they do not drop through the 'paths' .
these kind of older manchines or vending/meters use weight and size to dtermine the coin as appose to laser or precise weight now a days - so it is possible on older vending/meters if the coint is scratched quite significantly.</description>
