   Ha ha! Good question!
   We are dispensing food from people all over the world, from all walks of life and cultures.
   I see it is one vast smorgasbord of food, something for everybody!
   I used to read a whole lot more than I do now! lol!
   But this is reading, just not in one text; but a forum.
   I do so enjoy Yahoo and all the different people here. It has opened my eyes to the world and it’s many people. I am amazed with all I have learned and shared. Thank you Yahoo!

   It might be more accurately be compared with a social phenomenon which has captured the interest of a particular segment of society that dispenses opinion and misinformation to the already biased and often bigoted as the same is spewed by hate mongers.
   It is similar to the Wikpedia phenomenon where inaccuracy is being offered as truth, where the same can be edited by anyone, regardless of their level of edication or knowledge base, etc.
   It is much like those persons whose knowledge of language is so poor that they have begun to corrupt the same by replacing numbers for words and employing both incorrectly as well as putting numbers into words thereby spelling no words.
   It was once labeled in academic circles as the “Dumbing of America” and has now become widely accepted as “clever”.
   If one consumed such a diet, regardless of how much said one ate, he or she would soon die of food poisoning and malnutrition.

   I have my reservations…about this “knowledge” thing!
   It can be operated 24 hrs. totally free of cost (well, at least in monetary terms!). But mostly for entertainment, little fun, and/or if lucky…reliable information too.
   Your platter will be full of all kinds of healthy and unhealthy food. But then you have to have basic insight/acumen to sift quality from junk.
   Before I chanced upon Yahoo, I was sticking with good ole’ newspapers and books. But they didn’t talk back to me and Yahoo did!

   A very interesting question. It seems there is a mix of everything from high quality, well researched answers to raving loony and thoroughly thick answers. There is also some great humour from time to time.
   Let’s face it, it’s good entertainment value.

   Y!A is a picture of Society. In here we can find diamonds and rust. Gold and mud. Saints and villains. Nothing should be of surprised any more. I am for 3 years in here and I admit, in the beginning I was feeling very upset whenever I was meeting such behaviors…. but later, when I found some dear friends in here, really fine, decent people, I realized that this is a small society and all we can do is to be close to those who suit us and keep away those who don’t, not having hard feelings about them. Just keep away and feel protected. As we do in real life.
   So are the answers given. I have read some so wonderful ideas, original, wise, fresh ideas. I know such is not too often, but it is worth searching for them. Just leave the nonsense behind and go further. Keep into your mind what suits you or adds to your way of thinking or feeling and forget all about the others.

   NO!!! It is a shame that we have to wade through so many sarcastic remarks and silly nonsense to finally get down to perhaps two answers that MAY be right.
   Before stumbling upon Y/A, I was an active participant with an online newspaper where we submitted articles in various categories, similar to the categories here, and readers would comment. During the 2000 Presidential Election, it was quite interesting. The community was global, like this forum, and we were able to learn from each other.
   Sadly, the site had to shut down due to lack of funding. There was no advertising on the site, members paid their own way, but it just wasn’t enough.

   Sad to say it is a 24 hrs vending machine of 20% for knowledge and the 80% is filled with non-effective junk & lazy wording with much misspell.
   As to say, went through the facebook & BBC Comment, they are of a better class……quite sure for knowledge exchange and peaceful.
