I have purchased - Cold drink, Chocolate, periodicals etc.
However following can be good choice -
Music CD, Video DVD,
Pen drive, Memory cards
Prepaid cards for mobiles and phones
Dressed vegetable, chicken, fish etc.
Grocery items
Bakery items

interesting question.
The first question should be, where will these vending machines go?
Because the market audience is most important to the product choices.
What if you could buy music at a music store, by plugging your portable Zune, Ipod, Zen, etc into a vending type machine where you can instantly recieve songs for low cost, with credit card or “gift” card you purchase at the counter?
What about a vending machine that gave up to date concert and performance information of local shows and allowed you to buy tickets with an automated system?
How about a booth you could sit down at and work with high quality software for say, designing, or music editing, or any of the other forms of work that costs insane ammounts of money at studios, or thousands to buy the software yourself.
This would also help the software familiarize more users, increasing potential buyers of the product.
And certainly it would be easy enough to make a profit charging by the hour, and controlling the output capabilities.
Reading material in key locations, like train stations, air ports, even bus stops. This could include books, papers, magazines, puzzles… all in a vending machine.
Truck stops and rest stations tend to have poor choices for food products and drinks.
Vending machines with higher quality food, like whole organic and good for you stuff might be nice.
If you could fool proof the disfunctional issues of copy machines, maybe you could produce a simple vending machine that could go anywhere, to make copies…
Drugs at a stadium or concert would be nice. I mean OTC ones. Like headache and nausea medicine. Common problems that ruin a good time at a show.
It seems like the machines that make the most money are game machines. Like ones where you try to win a prize.
Gambling is illeagal where I am, but they still have these kind of machines. Put in a dollar and try to stop the flashing lights on the DVD you want… or try to make the spinning carousel stop in the right spot. These games seem so obviously rigged… theres no doubt that the owner is making profits.
How about a vending machine that cooks your food choice prior to dispensing it?
Drops it into the cooking device, likely a microwave of sorts,
then spit it out to the customer.
