I think they would work in certain areas like the Maritimes and the west coast where it rains a lot. I used to live in Vancouver and whenever people would come to visit, whether it was business or personal, they would wish they had brought an umbrella. It is one of those things that most west coasters have handy in their car or office, etc. It would probably work well to have them in airports, near transit shelters, sporting venues and office buildings. I don’t think it would work in other parts of Canada though, because there is simply not enough rain.

Could be, I would think you would need to be in a high rise office building with thousands of workers. You are limiting your market down to just a few people. If you would look at the odds, how many people in the building, how many forgot their umbrella that day, how many have to leave when its raining, how many will know the umbrella’s are in the machine, how many have the money to buy one, etc etc. gets down to on a rainy day with a couple thousand people you might sell four or five. ??????????
Lots of other vending opportunity out there.

That’s such a cool idea! hah, but I don’t know snow seems to be more of an issue in Canada than rain, although it might work in BC(more of a rainy climate) or something. Actually I think it could work, when I look back last winter there were tons of days when it was raining.

I wouldn’t buy one, but I bet a lot of people would if they were situated in the right places.
We certainly get a lot of rain in Canada, but because of the high winds I find umbrellas just bend over and break so I stopped using them years ago.

the only place to make money with that i would say is at the niagara falls in canada
