It is going to depend on where you live. You’ll need a business license at minimum. You may also need a resale permit and health permit (I am assuming you’ll be selling food).
Check with your local City and County offices. They will be able to help you.
Possibly, It depends on where you live and what their rules are.
The location you are putting the machine may know.
You can look at other vending machines, they probably would have a sticker on them showing a license number.
Call your city, township offices, and health department.
If you want a coffee/ hot beverage machine you will need to get a license from your health department ( similar to a restaurant)
Call another vending company and ask them. If it is required they should tell you, trying to discourage you purchasing your own machine.
